For the woods and farms of Ocean Township – the proximity to Asbury Park was a cheaper, natural move. PROFIT. Early developers mapped their plans for resorts, business districts, roads, sewers, curbing, paved roads and bridges. The proximity to New York, Staten Island, Ferries and trains. Today some of the early developers may be accused of “puffery” -exaggerating their proximity to local amenities via their ads.
